Selecting the model is only part of the work. The sensing circuit, auxiliary supply, trip output and breaker trip circuit need to be checked together. The protection device detects the fault and issues the operating signal; the breaker interrupts the current. The complete trip path therefore matters as much as the device selection.
Protection settings also need coordination with upstream and downstream devices to avoid unnecessary shutdowns while meeting the required fault-clearing duties. Other grid-connection protection requirements should be checked across the complete system.
