Preparing for EECA Reporting? Start with Better Energy Data


Your electricity bill shows how much energy the site used. But if consumption rises, can you tell whether it came from cooling, production or equipment left running after hours?

For Malaysian facilities preparing energy records under EECA 2024, that breakdown helps explain the numbers. A practical starting point is to measure the main supply and the loads that matter most.

Acrel APM521 can monitor energy, demand and electrical parameters at the main incomer or key feeders. Standard ADL400 meters provide three-phase branch metering for areas such as lighting, pumps and air conditioning. ADW300A offers another option for monitoring selected loads, with the communication configuration chosen to suit the site.
Through compatible data acquisition equipment, these readings can feed Acrel energy management software. RS485 meters need a suitable gateway or data collector. The software brings consumption records and historical trends together, making it easier to compare circuits and investigate changes.

If overnight consumption stays high, for example, branch data can help the team locate the load and check operating schedules. After an adjustment, the same records help assess the result alongside production levels and operating hours.

This provides supporting data for energy analysis and reporting. The responsible team still needs to check data completeness and prepare the required submission.
