One instrument, four three-phase circuits
A board with several outgoing feeders normally needs one meter per feeder. The ADW2xx series rail power meter removes that multiplication: a single DIN-rail housing measures 1, 2, 3 or 4 three-phase circuits at the same time, each with its own current transformers, and reports every circuit separately.
On every circuit it measures three-phase voltage, current, active / reactive / apparent power, power factor and frequency, plus zero-sequence current, phase angle and voltage / current unbalance. The four-circuit model ADW210-Dxx-4S is the one most often quoted for distribution boards, and it is supplied with its CTs.
Four three-phase circuits, one RS485 line, one instrument to configure.
See the ranges and ordering codes on the ADW2xx product page. Measurement, recording and communication details are below.
What it records without a separate device
- Voltage and current total harmonic distortion plus the 2nd to 31st individual harmonics — harmonic accuracy ±1%.
- Extremes of voltage, current and power for the current month and the previous month, with maximum demand and the time it occurred.
- Four-quadrant energy with 4 time zones and 14 rate periods, 12 months of multi-rate energy, and 31 days of daily energy freeze.
- 200 event records of switching-input and relay output action, so a trip or a linkage is time-stamped instead of being reconstructed later.
- Alarms on over-voltage, over-current and phase failure, with relay output or switching-input linkage available on the main unit.
Reference accuracy: voltage and current class 0.5, active energy class 1, reactive energy class 2, frequency resolution 0.05 Hz. Current is taken from external opening-type transformers in the 5 A, 100 A, 400 A or 600 A range, so the primary conductors stay untouched.
Expand over one RJ45 bus
The main unit carries 2 switching inputs and 2 relay outputs. Two RJ45 modules extend it over the same bus, powered from the bus (DC 12 V, ≤1 W each) and addressed by the same Modbus-RTU map:
- MK switching module — 12 extra switching inputs and 4 relay outputs, for breaker position and fan / pump status.
- MTL temperature and leakage module — 12 NTC temperature inputs (−20 to 100 °C, ±2 °C) and 4 residual-current channels (10 to 3000 mA, ±1.0%), for busbar heating and earth-leakage warning.
For wireless uplink the meter pairs with an AWT100 gateway (2G, 4G, NB-IoT, LoRa or LoRaWAN) on the RS485 port; the wired option is RS485 Modbus-RTU at 1200 to 38400 bps.
