An Italian integrator connected the ACR10R to its own platform over Modbus-RTU to monitor the energy produced and consumed by photovoltaic systems at several companies. Because the meter uses opening-type current transformers on a DIN rail, the site was instrumented without cutting existing cables.
What the site needed
- Energy and power data for each PV connection, read remotely instead of by a monthly site visit.
- Bidirectional metering, so export to the grid and import from it are separated.
- A register set the integrator could poll over a serial network and map into its own system.
- Installation inside a distribution board that was already energised and already crowded.

Why the opening-type CT matters on a retrofit
A conventional bar or window CT has to be threaded around the conductor, which means a planned outage and a free hand inside the board. An opening-type CT closes around the cable, so a PV connection can be instrumented while the plant keeps running. The trade-off is that accuracy depends on the conductor size and the position of the CT, which is why the circuit details have to be known before the model suffix is chosen.
What to send us
Send the conductor size at the metering point, the primary current range, the secondary system voltage, the protocol your platform polls, and whether you need pulse output or digital I/O. We confirm the model suffix, the CT ratio and the register map within one working day.
