High Maximum Demand on Your TNB Bill? Monitor It with ADW300A

Why a 30-minute peak matters

For TNB customers billed with Maximum Demand, the monthly value is based on the highest electricity demand recorded during a consecutive 30-minute period. Once the bill arrives, you can see the MD figure, but it may be difficult to know what caused it.

Maybe a chiller, compressor and production line started at around the same time. Maybe several motors were switched on during a shift change. Even if the peak only lasted for a short period, it could still become the highest demand recorded for that month.

See when the peak happened

ADW300A can be installed at the main LV incomer with suitable external CTs. It can monitor real-time demand, record Maximum Demand and show when the highest value occurred. The demand cycle can also be set to 30 minutes for site-side monitoring.

With this information, the facility team can compare the peak time with production schedules and equipment operation. If several large loads were running together, the team can review whether motor starting should be staggered or whether flexible loads can be operated at a different time.

ADW300A does not automatically control the loads or reduce the electricity bill. It provides the data needed to understand when the peak happened and what may have caused it.

It is an internal monitoring meter. The TNB revenue meter and electricity bill remain the official billing reference.
