Acrel wireless temperature monitoring solution

Acrel wireless temperature monitoring is used in high- and low-voltage power systems to watch every electrical contact continuously, so that a loosening joint or an overloaded busbar is found before it trips a feeder. Because the sensors are wireless, the system can be added to a switchgear line-up that is already in service.

Two ways to read the temperature

Local display uses units such as ATP007 and ARTM-Pn, which show each sensor channel on the panel door. Online monitoring sends the same channels to a gateway and then to the Acrel IoT platform, where limits are set per channel and alarms are logged with a time stamp. Every device in the chain speaks RS485 with Modbus-RTU, so a gateway can carry the data onward over 4G, Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

What the sensors sit on

  • Cable heads and busbar joints in a low-voltage drawer or a capacitor cabinet.
  • Busbar connectors in a rising main, where a hot joint is the usual start of a smoke event.
  • Breaker contacts and disconnectors in a medium-voltage cubicle, including the live parts that an infrared gun can only reach during a shutdown.

A surface sensor cannot be fitted to a live busbar. The sensor type is chosen with the panel design, so send the drawing before we quote a set.

Tell us the number of panels, the voltage class, how many contacts per panel and whether you want a local display, a gateway to the cloud platform, or both. We return a sensor and transceiver list with the wiring diagram within one working day.
